Since last year a small group of individuals are working to establish an official registered NPO Hojin (charity) Vegan Society of Japan. Our application was accepted by our NPO department earlier this year and is currently undergoing official review.

We have started a Vegan Japan knowledgebase website at:

and have a t-shirt shop at:

http://www.zazzle.com/veganjapan.

We are strictly not-for-profit and open source, and have no connection to any other businesses targeting the vegan market in Japan.

We aim to carry out all the usual activities of a vegan society, build a bridge to vegan societies internationally and we assist foreign vegans coming to Japan.

Our first big public event was held this year promoting ’Save the Japanese Dolphin’ campaigners at the Kyoto Vegetarian Festival.
